I was a child from hard places and after growing up mostly in Oregon, I moved to Texas at 16 and then back to Oregon at 18. I met and followed the man that I married and had 2 children with here to AZ in 2004 and I started my career as a child advocate, working with at risk youth all over Maricopa County. Throughout my decade in that stressful industry, there was one thing I learned quickly and that was self-care. I have a passion for helping others and while I burnt out as a child advocate, I am able to still live my passion through aerial. Helping others has been my calling and so, I opened a studio to help others learn to love themselves through healthy movement. When I am not at the studio, I am usually playing mom to 3 wonderful children, wife to the love of my life, finding new adventures in my Jeep somewhere in the middle of the desert or at a lake/river with a kayak or paddle-board.
Hi! I’m Christina Jackson and it’s wonderful to meet you all! I figured it would be good to tell you a bit about myself. First, if you would have asked 10 years ago if I was going to teach dance fitness, I would have laughed. It’s been a wild ride and I love everything about it. Personally, I have always struggled with my weight, abuse and trauma, and being over 250+ pounds for over 20 years of my life. I lost most of the weight at 28 and joined the army at 29. After 7 years and a bad car accident. I found myself extremely overweight for the 2nd time in my life and could not do the traditional cardio classes or run, due to back injuries. I found Zumba in 2011 and took a couple of classes, always standing in the back. I had some life changing, physically debilitating, and career changes and then Zumba found me -- this time I was student training to become an instructor in 2014. Taking that license propelled me into many different instructors classes and finding my niche. I moved to AZ in 2015 and sought out a mentor in Zumba. I fell in love with a new format, Mixxedfit, and was licensed in 2016, which has turned into my passion and my purpose. I am inspired by people and aspire to inspire others in a safe space open to anyone and everyone. My mantra is let loose, enjoy and have fun; this time is for you. I have been actively involved, teaching up to 8 classes a week, and doing many charity events to raise money for local children school supplies, hurricane relief, packing food for homeless or raising money for local cancer foundations.
I am Cindi Fletcher and yoga has truly transformed my life. I started practicing for the physical benefits, but quickly realized that it helped reduce stress and I felt great mentally and emotionally! I am an RYT 200HR and certified YogaNidra instructor. I have been practicing yoga for 15 years and teaching for 3 years. For me, yoga is about creating balance between the body, mind, and soul.
Gid'day! My name is Barb and originally I am from New Zealand, having traveled extensively before I moved to Arizona from California in 2017. My aerial adventure began around this time and it’s become my absolute passion. I took my first class in Tucson and left with my spirit soaring, joy in my heart, and feeling like I was floating on air! And now, I am following my bliss. I love helping others find fun new ways to workout as they navigate their fitness journey. I believe the connection of mind, body, and soul is essential for self care and harmony. When I’m not hanging upside down, I love to be outdoors - hiking, kayaking, and paddle-boarding are my favs; but I can also be found doing yoga, traveling to my new favorite place, or spending time with my girls -Roxy Hart, my senior pittie mix, and Luna, my rescue kitty! When I teach I truly hope that feeling of joy flows freely into others so they too, can float out of class. What are you waiting for? C’mon in and hang out with me and let’s flow!
Hello!! I'm Krista and I'm so excited to be teaching yoga here! I grew up a life-long athlete, playing basketball and soccer, all the way to the collegiate level, so moving my body has been ingrained in me since I was young! I discovered yoga a little later in life as I never really thought it was accessible to me. I have chronic back pain due to a few permanent slipped vertebrae in my lower back and yoga always looked a bit too difficult for me, given my spinal condition. However, after I left my career in the corporate world after a really difficult 10-year career, I was looking to rediscover myself, and start on a new journey. Yoga was part of this new left turn I took a few years ago and I could not be more grateful that I found it. With yoga, I'm not only pushing my body on days when I feel amazing and being more gentle when I'm tired - I'm tapping into myself and really listening to what I need everyday as I step onto the mat. Coupled with being a certified Reiki practitioner, I intermix the two modalities in class, helping me navigate my practice and my world off the mat. I absolutely love teaching, pushing students to discover new abilities, working the body, and changing perspectives about what's possible on the mat. This has become one of my greatest joys and I can't wait to see you in class!
